Melbourne Day 1
Melbourne = fabulous food…and/or shopping. Therefore for me a very very dangerous place. I’m here, and sadly enough with a very small bank balance.
Here is my ‘Food Diary’ for Day 1:
Hardware Societe
120 Hardware Street, Melbourne
For our first meal in Melbourne this cute cafe did not disappoint! All the hype surrounding ‘Hardware Societe’, I can report is 100% correct.
We ordered the Baked Eggs with chorizo etc.(see below) and the Sausage Stew – both scrumptious, especially on a 6 degree morning! Coffee was also tasty.

Brown Bagels
330 Collins Street Shop 10 Equitable Place, Melbourne
A friend recommended this tasty haunt and I would definitely go there again and again and again.
We ordered a raisin and cinnamon bagel with Nutella, strawberries and hazelnuts, and the blueberry bagel with honey cream cheese and bananas!
C & B
41-43 Block Place, Melbourne
We stopped in here for a little pick me up – Pecan Pie! Mmmmmm
Shanghai Village
112 Bourke Street, Melbourne
Cheap and yummy food. We ordered copious amounts of dumplings and fried pancakes with shallots (pic below – definitely a new favourite of mine).
Bon Appetite!
